• At least 4 feet--that's as far as I could back away from the computer to check

• I have used it 5 feet away with laptop casting to TV, no problem.

• Your question made me curious. I walked 10 feet away from my computer and it still worked. I couldn't hardly tell what I was clicking on from that distance but what the heck, it worked.
