• It comes with a USB dongle, and you must use it to connect the mouse to the computer. I don't think the mouse will connect to the computer via bluetooth.

• The included Unifying Receiver will not plug directly into your MacBook Air, since it is USB-A and your MacBook Air only allows USB-C. You would need either an adapter, a hub, or a mouse with Bluetooth connection.
