• This isn't a laser mouse, so it wouldn't work well without a mousepad on glass.

• I just purchased this mouse (M720) as a combo with a keyboard. I does not work well on my transparent desk mat, but works well on every other surface.

• You’d need something under the mouse because the LED has to read a surface for the mouse to operate properly.

• I've used it on different surfaces and it works very well you do not need to have a mousepad.
