• Yes. I use with my home setup daily. When I travel, only bring the mouse, use the laptop's keyboard. Works fine.

• Hi Sandy, Both the keyboard and mouse have individual nano receivers which correspond accordingly. You can choose which you'd like to have connected by manually inserting/removing the receiver from the USB ports on your laptop. So to answer your question, you can use them separately. -Logitech
