“Will the keyboard and mouse go into a sleep mode to save battery when not in use or do I have to turn off the switch when not in use?”

• You don't have to switch the keyboard or the mouse off. Although there is a switch on each device. The batteries last a long time (with my usage). I've also used an earlier model on my desktop for several years. I might have to change the batteries after a few months. It's not frequently enough to bother me. I never switch them off. My experience with the earlier model is the reason I stuck with the Logitech brand for this purchase.

• Yes it will go into sleep mode, But if going to leave unattended it would be best to power off
