For gaming wired will always be slighly better but it should work fine for gaming.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My son uses this for his Alienware tower for gaming. He has not had any issues with lagging, loss of signal, etc. He sits about 6 feet away from the tower and games for hours at a time
