• No, you have to use the USB dongle. Logitech makes a Bluetooth keyboard that will work with the Surface. I use the Bluetooth one with my iPad.

• No, the receiver is in the dongle so they will not work without the dongle

• The keyboard and mouse cannot be used without the receiver. I have a Surface 7, which has a USB type A port and a USB type C. The receiver will plug into a USB type A port. Depending on your Surface model, you should have one of those ports, most likely the USB type C
