both underneath they take a total of 4 AA but they last forever

Logitech claims the batteries should last two years in the keyboard and three years in the mouse. As I use them for work 8 hours a day I expect the battery life might be less. I've always been impressed on how long the batteries have lasted in other Logitech devices/
