• Hello, Rene! Yes, the MK540 will work for gaming. However, it is not meant for gaming so there will be a difference in feel between gaming keyboards and mice and this combo. If it's for a 12-year old and you're looking to not spend a lot, this combo will work just fine. - Maggie from Logitech
