• No it uses bluetooth. We hooked it up to our macbook air without any issues

• The MX Anywhere 2S supports Bluetooth connectivity. You can pair it directly with your MacBook Pro via the Bluetooth settings, without needing any USB adapter. If you prefer to use the Unifying receiver, you would need to purchase a separate USB-C to USB-A adapter to plug the receiver into your MacBook Pro.
