• No it does not require a USB connector. I have mine connected via Bluetooth.

• Not necessarily, It does have a dongle that requires a USB-A port but it's also bluetooth. I use bluetooth to connect to my MacBook Pro 16". Hope that helps.

• It works via Bluetooth as well. In my experience it works better with Bluetooth than with the unifying receiver.
