• No, just place the pencil in the normal charging position and you can still close the retaining flap.

• No, it is held too far from the side of the iPad. However, the pencil can be placed in the charging position and the case can be closed with the retaining flap closed.

• Yes it does and I have not seen it dislodge or fall out at all when the case is open or in use. Huge plus for me!
