There is no touch pad or connection for a mouse. It is for typing and you have to use the touch screen of the iPad to navigate similarly like a mouse. There are function keys that are short cuts to some of the tablets functionality including a home key and lock key.

It has arrow keys but no true mouse function. It's for a tablet and tablets have touch screens. No real reason for mouse functions.
