• You still need a screen protector, but my son has dropped his iPad many times and no dings or cracks.

• Shock/impact. If you're lucky enough to have it closed when you drop it. No liquid protection obviously.

• In my opinion, the keyboard/cover offers excellent protection. It covers both the front and back of the iPad.

• It is pretty secure in the case with the ipad clicking into the corners and a bottom bar that is magnetic and helps the ipad stand in position. But I wouldn't recommend it for kids who are going to drop the case and ipad. I would personally want a stronger case for kids.
