• No pc speakers will be louder than power tools. You should consider getting him wireless headphones instead.

• yes he should be able to hear they can go up quite far as well the sub woofer adds some thump to the audio they are worth it.

• No. These don't turn up loud at all. And the loudest setting is highly distorted. I actually got new speakers because my old ones were not loud anymore =(
