I am going to answer your question from experience. Now it is 64 degrees outside, so at this time it is not any help. However, I was out of town, and accessed the cameras from a far remote location, with the temperature, at the camera location of 50 degrees. The cameras all continued to function. Prior I had Lorex Surveillance Cameras, and they continued to function properly at temperatures as low as 35 degrees, for at least 5 years, without failure. The system I have now, which you are asking about, is far inferior to the prior surveillance cameras I had, in reference to the quality of the software, and the quality of the video. The prior system was full High Definition, yet this system is supposed to be much higher definition. It is NOT. I would not have the system, if I would have had the correct return time. I had another 2 weeks to return it. Unfortunately I overlooked the return time. The system is not at all as advertised. It is much easier to set up, but the quality is not at all as advertised. I cannot say yet as to the functioning of the cameras with this system, with the outside temperature in the lows at 40 degrees or lower. I have not had it long enough, to know. This coming Thursday, the temperature is forcast at 40 degrees. I will send another reply to your question the day after. If the temperature goes as low as 40 degrees and still functioning I will attempt to answer your question again. I do not know if I can answer twice. I will try however. For me, you will be very disappointed both in the software , and the quality of the video. Personally my recommendation is for you to take it back to Best Buy, for a refund, if you still have the time. My Daughter has a Samsung Surveillance system, and it functions with quality video, and never has a problem in cold weather, much lower than 60 Degrees. For me, I wish very much I would have purchased Samsung. I cannot say if all Samsung Surveillance Systems are very good, however my Daughter's is very good with high quality video. Worth a try. Look for my answer after this coming Thursday if I can reply to you, I will.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There have been a few weeks with the temperature reaching a low as 40 degrees some days. The system failed. I tried for over 5 hours, to ask Lorex to replace the camera system and they repeatedly REFUSED! I purchased the system September 2017. The Lorex warranty is worthless. Tech support absolutely does NOT know what they are doing. Support had me going from camera to camera shining a flash light on each camera and placing my hand over each camera for a total of 8 times. And, then I had to read off the product number off the transformer, even though the lights were operating on the main base unit. Bad reviews for Lorex are not exaggerated. I wish very much I had never purchased a Lorex system of any kind. The claims in the advertising are absolutely false, in regards to resolution, color and the function of the software. I definitely would not recommend a Lorex product of any kind. The warranty is additionally absolutely worthless. Lorex repeatedly refuses to replace the unit after over 5 hours.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Last Night, January 3, 2018, the temperature reached a low of 46 Degrees. I checked the cameral operation during the night and early this morning, with a 46 degree temperature. The cameras were functioning the same, as when the temperature is at 90 degrees and above. The past Lorex Surveillance cameras I had in the past, but a Different Model, continued to function at all temperatures down to 35 degrees and as high as 95 degrees. No extreme temperatures, below and above however. This camera system rated by Lorex is supposed to be superior to the past system I had. It is not, so past performance is not an indication of future performance. Hope this is helpful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just got this system two months ago. I live in Tampa Florida, today the temp is 49 and dropping. Cameras are operating like it is 80 out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
