Generically, the Mini works just like an Apple laptop or iMac and can download any of the apps they take. I am also aware that if there are any apps that are "intel specific" that Rosetta provides an interface that should allow the M1 chip to run that app. I have not had any issues, but I am more of a mainstream user- I do video and audio and picture editing and am happy with the core apps- like QuickTime player, garage band, Photos and iMovie. No issues with handbrake and MKV for video editing. Hope this helps.
