If I'm traveling, would my MacBook work with this? null

all you need is get external monitor portable, external monitor portable sell on amazon have very good price external monitors portable have 14'' In, 15'' In, 17'' In sizes pick any size monitor external portable you like. and get bluetooth or wireless keyboard and mouse small size, I'm use Logitech mouse and keyboard battery last forever. This Mac Studio is small and compact and very good for travel. Portable external monitor on amazon sell very cheap price with different prices for small or bigger sizes. I hope this help.

If you mean remote, then any remote app will work as in Teamviewer, etc.

A MacBook is a portable computer. The Mac Studio is a desktop computer. It requires a separate display monitor and a keyboard for how most people use a computer.

Thanks Audioman, I was thinking I'd use the MacBook as monitor, keyboard and mouse. Now that I write that it maybe doesn't make sense as I wouldn't conceive of connecting the MacBook to an old school processor ... LOL

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but this is a computer itself, not an accessory for your MacBook. The Mac Studio M1 Max is a desktop computer that would require a monitor, keyboard and mouse, so it would probably not be one you would take traveling... although you could... it's much smaller than desktops used to be... you'd be better off with your laptop.
