Magic Jack transfers number for you for small fee
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can PORT a number you already have - so if it's a cell phone number OR a landline number - you will END your subscription for either your cell phone or your landline if you PORT (which means move or transfer) your existing number elsewhere to MAGIC JACK. You can also select to being assigned a new number and leave your existing numbers to where they are. If your old landline number is still available, you can try to get that assigned to Magic Jack. 1) I was able to capture one of my elder relatives canceled number and move it to Magic Jack after he gave up landlines when he sold his house and moved to another state. He was thrilled to be able to keep a phone number he had for more than 40 years. Most of his childhood contacts were intact through the old number. 2) During the pandemic shutdowns, I helped two distinct but related nonprofit organizations port (transfer) their office numbers to Magic Jack which was then placed in the home of the single person in charge of their administrative staff. 3) I convinced my mother to move her landline phone to a Magic Jack because of how much they continued to raise her price for a landline. We lives in a 2 story house and although she has a cell phone, she isn't interested in carrying a phone with her to every room in the house and needs EXTENSIONS in the house. She has never had cable TV but her cost for a landline just got too high. She was paying $25, then $45, then $120 and the next raise was to nearly $200 a month. I pay for internet only and have long used Magic Jack. When I saw the cost for JUST her phone go that high, I asked her a math question: In 10 years you will pay $24,000 or more if they raise the price again to keep your traditional landline. OR In 10 years you'll pay $280 for Magic Jack for your SAME number on your landline. I pay for internet so that cost isn't even your cost. That is when she agreed to change. I purchased a single line AT&T phone for her and a two-line AT&T phone for myself so I have a dedicated second phone line I use for HOME OFFICE calls. These items also have CONNECT TO CELL - the *2-line phone allows you to also add *2 cell phones. You can charge your cell phones from the AT&T base. The CONNECT TO CELL FEATURE works even if the ONLY phones connected are your MOBILE PHONES. It allows you to answer and make calls via your cell phone from ANY extension of the AT&T phone. This means that you don't have to CARRY your cell phone around the house or go running for it if you put it down when you have an extension you can answer in other rooms in the house. Also from each extension you can make a call or answer a call. If a second person's cell rings while you are speaking on one extension or on the base, they can make or receive separate calls to the OTHER cell phone (or from the Magic Jack if you have that also) simultaneously. I've added phone hardware I use that has "CONNECT TO CELL".
I would recommend:
