Hi Doc, thank you for your question. The portable speakers are designed for use outdoors, the Tufton is the loudest in the portable range with an SPL rating of 102 dB SPL @ 1 m. The Stanmore III can be used outside, however it will need a power source in order to function and needs to be protected from the elements. In comparison to the Tufton, the Stanmore III has an SPL rating of 97 dB @ 1 m.
