• Yes it's also an exhaust fan that can be used with an external vent or with an optional charcoal filter if there's no exterior vent. It should be used on a dedicated grounded circuit as with any appliance.

• yes it is also a vented range hood with exhaust fan. can easily be converted before installation to vent into kitchen or exhaust outside. i would recommend to install all appliances on grounded circuits.
