Correction to my answer of Sep. 4. You can get the beeping to stop if you press "cancel" BEFORE you open the door. Once you open the door, there is no way to stop the beeping. (It beeps 5 times.) Other than that, I love this microwave (Whirlpool# UMC5225SD). I miss the ability to press a number from 1 to 6 and get that many minutes. But I like the feature where I can store up to 3 preprogrammed times.

Maybe it was correct in 2016, but I just bought this model and the beeper DOES NOT shut off when you open the door. It beeps 5 times, regardless. Even pressing the "cancel" button won't stop it until it has beeped 5 times.
