“How can i get the lid unlocked if i have tried everything including unplugging for hours. Both my husband and i have tried everything for the past 24 hours and there is a load inside that has already went through the spin cycle.”

This happens often. I have had it happen twice. You have to get a service technician. I suggest getting a different washer.
