I have been using my machine for 2 months now. I usually use "warm" water, so I don't know if this dictates how the tub fills. I have not seen a deep fill (up to the top of the tub) yet. For each load I do, the water level has been sensed no matter which fill I choose. There does not seem to ever be enough water for the loads I do. For instance, I tried to wash a pair of sneakers. They always swished around on the top of the load, and never got drawn into the water where they could really be cleaned. (All the clothes only get swished around and not agitated very strongly.) At the end, the sneakers were not clean. However, my other laundry does seem to get clean. If I could do it again, I would buy a top-loader with the kind of agitator that sticks up tall in the middle of the tub, like my mom used to have back in the 60's.
