There is an option for a "larger fill" but it can only be used in some of the cycles and, interestingly, not in the "normal" cycle. I hate the water savers that we are all subjected to no matter what style washer you buy. I use the larger fill option on everything and just don't typically select the normal cycle. The other options like "bedding", etc. do the same job and allow the extra fill. I do really like this washing machine and it is BIG.
