If you were buying the exact same package as you had, it would give you an option to "Extend your current subscription" and then it would extend your current expiration date by 1 year. However, it sounds like you had "McAfee Antivirus" and now are moving to "McAfee Total Protection". This is going to require an uninstall and reinstall, but that is done during the installation process for you if you haven't already done it manually. You will need to wait for Antivirus to expire in order to get your full subscription time, although we actually keep it active for 30 days after expiration just to give you time to make this kind of a change and remain protected. Just make sure you go to https://www.mcafee.com/activate to redeem the new code. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
