This is strictly for use with an indoor or outdoor TV antenna, it is incompatible with cable TV boxes. It does have a timer to set up recordings or the ly can be set up using the Electronic Program Guide.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This DVR will record anything being passed through it. Source doesn't make any difference. It does have a timer. You can record only 1 program at a time. Make sure you set the time in the menu and check "daylight Savings Time" if appropriate. Its not automatic. Timer can be set for "Once", Weekly" or "Daily". My biggest complaint: I set the DVR to record a certain program on a certain day (weekly) at a certain time on a certain channel. It records as set, but because the same program is on another channel (which I don't get), it automatically changes the timer to the other channel so it doesn't record properly the next time. This happens on only one channel, so you may have to check each recording accordingly. Otherwise, the DVR does what it says and otherwise works well.
