does this work on smart tv ...regular tv null

I don't have a smart tv buy I suspect it should work as it has both HDMI ,RF and RCA outputs. I use it with an old regular analog tv and as a stand alone dvr. Works fine except for recording daily, has no Mon-Fri selection so need to update record date when program not on 7 days or delete. works with flash drive - I use a 128 GB and get 12 + hours of recording.

Both. You can only record a signal fed through the coax connector on the back of the unit. In other words, you would not be able to record any programs via your ethernet cable or wifi on your Smart Tv.

Yes it does work. At times the weather conditions can affect the signal which may require you to do a channel search to restore all functional channels.
