• You can only use the right on it's own. The left is a slave to the right (if the left connects at all...)

• You can use the right earbud by itself, while the other is in the case or off. However, the left earbud can NOT be used by itself with the right earbud off or in the case.

• Only the right one can be used alone. The left one needs the right one to be on to work.

• Single bud: only the right will work. The left can be left in the charger but if you only want to use the left, you will need to have the right one be on and not in you ear. (The only thing that sucks about these ear buds) other than that, they are awesome.
