Not really one good answer to this. There are two versions, one for 299 and one for 399. It's basically and advanced smart phone with more sensors. If you look at this headset compared to other VR headsets it's actually the most affordable with the most features. Also it seems like Meta is actually taking some of the cost to manufacture these in hopes they'll make it back from the games people buy.
