“Hi, my Office Personal license is good until June 2018 for one PC. If I upgrade to Office Home in order to have the option to install on 5 PC's and Tablets (by buying online at Best Buy), do I lose the remaining time on my current license?”

Your subscription should extend, at least that is what happened with me. Shop around, sometimes you can find it for for less than the $99 yearly fee. I usually purchase on Black Friday ($85 price).

The timeline you have left on your current subscription will remain and the new time will be added to it once you activate a new subscription. Not only that but your remaining original 1 year will also apply to the new licences. When you add a home 365 to a Personal one, the timelines are added together, in other words, while the licenses are upgraded and limited to 5.
