• I didn’t have to do anything special hooked right up to my computer and I was using a Best Buy keyboard that stopped working after 6 1/2 months so I have a Microsoft keyboard that’s like four years old and it works right well with it and I replaced it, but it the mouse worked on both of them

• Yes, it is only connected by blue tooth. As long as your computer has blue tooth, you shouldn't need any special software if using a windows PC.
