“I can't take a screenshot or record a clip with the middle button and can't reconfigure it on my xbox. Does anyone know how to do that? Or is my controller faulty for not taking the screenshots?”

The middle button is used to change the saved button setup. If you go to the Xbox Accessories App, it'll make it easier to understand and explain it better than I can.
