“Are the cap and num lock keys backlit or illuminated in any way?”

• No they are not. However if you install the software, it will show you on the screen the current state of them when you toggle them. For example, in the lower right of the screen it'll say "CAPS LOCK ON" when you press the key on the keyboard if it was previously off.
