• The tilt bar is actually the battery chamber, it cannot be removed.

• The image shows this to be a Surface Keyboard. I own two, one of which has biometric key. There is not tilt bar. There is a battery encasement that raised the back by about a half-inch (not much), but it would never 'lay flat' as a result. Hope this helps.
