There's only one regular USB-port; so, if you want to occupy it with that, you can. Microsoft wants you to buy their Bluetooth mouse; which is compatible with the laptop's built-in Bluetooth system.

Please try again later.I generally agree with the other answer on this question, about the port and Microsoft, but you can also buy a USB hub and then have additional ports. This is something you would likely do anyway, to enable simultaneous use of more than one USB drive, etc.
