Go in and ask an associate to help you learn more about the Surface's abilities. The store associate should more than blow your mind by showing you the devices capabilities.

A:AnswerI have the type2 keyboard and it fits without issues on my surface pro I have no issues with it so far. I just bought this 2 weeks ago along with the type 2 keyboard. I would recommend also getting the cover and mouse with it. You will have a better experience with your surface pro, as far as upgrading to 8.1 that will be more of a preference than anything.
