QuestionSurface Pro - CD/DVD Player/BurnerCan an external CD/DVD Player/Burner be used? Does it have to have its own power source or will the USB handle it? What software is used to manage the external drive, play music, play DVD's, burn CD's, etc.?

- Answer You can use a USB optical drive with the Microsoft Surface with no additional software required... just plug it into the USB port and wait a couple seconds for windows to recognize it. Its that simple. As for multimedia (music/movies) you can use windows media player to view them or download something else like VLC media player but the Microsoft Surface comes pre-loaded with a media player.

QuestionCan you right click?I use web based software for my HVAC controls and need a simple way to right click. I would prefer to not connect an external mouse. does the surface work this way?

- Answer The included stylus with the Surface Pro does allow for a right-click. You can either use the button on the pen, or do a long-press with the pen tip. I believe this will also work with your finger, but if you're using a desktop application, you may need the precision of the stylus.

QuestionCan Surface Pro run Quickbooks 2012 full version (not mobile)?I do craft fairs and want to run my quickbooks and print my receipts live. Not with a mobile app requiring another monthly fee. Why is this so much to ask??!!

- Answer I don't use Quickbooks, but it will run any program that will run on Windows 7. In short, if it worked on Windows 7 it will work on the Surface Pro with Windows 8.

QuestionHow well does it handle digital painting and handwriting?My favorite computer has always been the HP 2710P because it's a full laptop but the capacitive stylus is excellent for capturing handwriting and, more importantly, for creating art in painting programs such as ArtRage Pro. The Surface Pro looks like it might be the right upgrade, but what's the drawing experience like? Is the screen too small? Is it immediately responsive to the stylus, just as if it were a pencil or a brush? I guess my biggest concerns are possible screen lag and that the screen might feel too cramped to be as much fun as drawing should be. And does it feel natural to use for handwriting also? Any feedback from current owners?

- Answer When I got my Surface Pro, I was overwhelmed by the ability of the Surface's interaction with the Wacom designed pressure sensitive pen. The Surface Pro is more than capable of pushing out full HD to an external monitor. The drawing experience is amazing. Its almost like you are draw or painting on real paper. The windows store includes so many free apps that are actually very good for painting or sketching. The screen is a 10.6" Full HD display. In my opinion the screen is a perfect size. Just a wee bit smaller than a typical notebook. The stylus is more than accurate and responsive. If I were you I would look for the closest Microsoft Store. Go in and ask an associate to help you learn more about the Surface's abilities. The store associate should more than blow your mind by showing you the devices capabilities.

QuestionHow to activate Office Suite on Surface Pro 2?I thought my Surface Pro 2 128GB came with MS Office Suite pre-loaded. There's an icon in Windows 8.1 for Office but when I select it, it says Buy, Activate, or Try 365 for one month. I click Activate and it asks for the product key. I looked through all the paperwork that came with the Surface Pro 2 and there's no Office product key. Am I missing something here?

- Answer Your Surface Pro 2 does not come with Office Suite. You will need to purchase it if you would like to keep it on you tablet. Check this website if you qualify for a discounted price. Also, if you purchased it from BestBuy, they sell the student edition version for $99.

QuestionIs 128gb capacity be enough to install antivirus software?If I install Norton internet security, plus microsoft office, is the 128 gb be enough to accommodate those softwares? Will the tablet still run ok, or will I notice a major lag ?

- Answer 128GB is more than enough. I can't vouch for Norton, but I am running McAfee without any noticeable lag.

- Answer I have the type2 keyboard and it fits without issues on my surface pro I have no issues with it so far. I just bought this 2 weeks ago along with the type 2 keyboard. I would recommend also getting the cover and mouse with it. You will have a better experience with your surface pro, as far as upgrading to 8.1 that will be more of a preference than anything. Both type 2 keyboard and Windows 8 works fine with it. I have no issues at all with it.

- Answer Yes. The Surface Pro is the go-to product for a tablet with full Windows capability. I have found very few items (hardware and software) that are incompatible. Normally the incompatible items are much older products.

- Answer Hello there, You are able to install your own anti-virus software on the Surface Pro just like on your PC. Windows 8 does include Windows Defender at no charge. Should you want additional protection, go to your anti-virus website you purchased it from, sign in and follow the instructions on how to download, install and enter your key card number successfully register your software.
