It is NOT compatible... I found out the hard way. To even connect it upon first opening, you have to buy a separate charging cradle for it, and once its charged, only the top button works to take screenshots. You cannot draw on the Surface Laptop 7 with the Surface Slim Pen 2 because the Surface Laptop 7 does not provide pen & ink capabilities.
