QuestionI have been told to load this on a surface pro that was on a network , is no longer but cannot be opened. It tells me the windows 10 usb will wipe and reinstall the operating system. Does this sound right?

- Answer Yes. If there's no other boot medium it will default to the USB. Just make sure you have a HDD or SSD applied such that the image from the USB can be installed.

- Answer It solved my problem. My laptop had windows 7 on it. It would not update or repair itself. I had a Geek Squad Technician work on it for hours. I finally had to upgrade to Windows 10 in order to get my laptop working again.

- Answer Yes the thumb drive will boot your pc. This will then let you install windows on a hdd or ssd drive.

- Answer I’m not savvy either just follow the prompts and if need be have another laptop next to you so you can reference and fix any problems you may have not understanding something if need be. It’s what I do and seems to work well.

- Answer No. Windows 10 installation instructions will lead you through how to UPGRADE your Windows 7 computer, rather than removing windows 7. Choose UPGRADE and the new installation will preserve almost all of your settings, contacts, homepage shortcuts, etc. You should backup all of your data files, though, and then return them to your data folders following the upgrade to Windows 10.

- Answer Unplug it, hold power button for 30 sec, open the case after again touching case with bare hands releasing any static charge, take out round battery for 30 seconds or so and hips will be reset resetting passwords ect
