If you want to do a clean install, which it sounds you might if you're having issues, you can boot from the usb ( I had to press F12 to change the boot option on my Toshiba Satellite ). Clean install will not preserve any existing progs, apps, files. If you can get 7 up (lol), insert the usb and browse to it with explorer and choose "setup". Prepare to wait. Takes awhile, as in hours.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would probably depend on the boot order setup in your system's Bios. When you start your computer up, look for the screen right in the beginning of the boot process that will say something like hit F2 or del to enter bios and you can tell it to look at usb first as boot up before any installed hard drives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will boot from the USB. Does not require windows to already be installed. Just be aware you must be able to UEFI boot from the USB stick if you have a 2+ TB HDD. My motherboard would not, so I made an install DVD from the internet on my work computer and used this product key to activate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this will not boot from the USB. You will need a DVD drive to install the OS.
