To be able to use the current Windows 10 product key on that PC, you must upgrade to the same version (Home, or Pro, for example) of Windows 11 as the Windows 10 version currently on that PC. If you wish to change versions during the upgrade, you would need to purchase the appropriate version's key in order to activate the new Windows. So if you go from Home to Pro, or from Pro to Home, this is when you need to purchase a product key. Going from 10 Home to 11 Home can re-use the existing Windows 10 key. The same is true for Pro.
