I have a 5 yr old laptop that works fine. I purchased a wireless mouse from Walmart . Plugged in the dongle and put the batteries in the mouse . It came on right away,nice . I turned it over and there was a 4 slot slide switch .Which one do I put it on? null

my wireless mobile 3500 mouse only uses 1 battery and does not have the 4 slot switch on its bottom that you mentioned is on yours...are you sure you have the right model number of your mouse?

Call the Walmart guy who sold you this thing. They are extremely helpful. Even Best Buy will tell you right over the phone.
