This item doesn’t include games but instead just the Xbox live subscription that allows you to play online with others. Although every month Xbox gives out a few games out with a thing called Games with Gold, which is easy to find in the store. If you decide to purchase the game pass by itself it will not come with Xbox live to play with others you would be required to purchase it separately, but if you were to get the “game pass ultimate” subscription it includes a wide selection of games and gives you the ability to do both. Otherwise you have to go with one or the other.

Game Pass and Live are two different things.  You do get a game or two with Live, but you need Game Pass to access more games, and you need Live to play online and access online content.

If you purchase Xbox game pass ultimate it includes Xbox live gold. If you purchase game pass console, you will need Xbox live gold to play certain games online with friends. If you purchase Xbox live gold you can convert it to game pass ultimate for $1 as of right now. Xbox live gold converts to Xbox game pass ultimate for up-to 3 years worth.

Xbox live is a subscription to be able to play online multiplayer for the most part. Though it does include 4 free games a month you can play while the subscription is active. Once the subscription ends you csn no longer play the downloaded games.
Gamepass is only access to games you can download and play from a library of titles while you pay.
Gamepass ultimate includes xbox live and the game library. You will need gamepass ultimate to be able to do online multiplayer. Basically you need both. Live and gamepass to have it all.
