Hello Ken, thank you for your question about our Midea Duo 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner. You can connect a standard garden hose to the upper plug. The drain hose should be directed to a drain hole or sink for effective drainage. In this configuration, there's no need to move the unit to drain it. However, since the unit depends on gravity for continuous draining, the hose must initially have a downward slope and can then be adjusted to go upward if needed. Have a great day!
