“Why in the DVD version did they cut the Doolittle raid from the film versus the theatrical version?”

• Mine had it. Interesting decision though whether to include this in the story of Midway. There is a convincing argument that the Doolittle raid is what compelled the Japanese to move forward with the very complex Midway operation, however, so I think its appropriate to include it in the run up to the main story.

• My blue ray copy included ramp up to the raid and sequence dealing with the downed pilots in China.

• The Doolittle raids were on my Blueray version which is not the theatrical version.

• The movie wasn't about Doolittle. The raid on Tokyo was just part of the sequence leading up to the battle of Midway

• The Doolittle raid had enormous significance for America. However the Battle for Midway, crippled the Japanese carrier fleet costing them four of their first line carriers and their experienced aircrews.
