It’s not the Xbox one edition. There’s 2 versions. This is a Minecraft version that can run on Xbox one. It’s has the “better together” update. This version can receive updates. If the cover of the game says Xbox one edition, it’s the “dumbed-down” version that is not capable of receiving updates.

Yes, this digital version of Minecraft is for Xbox One.

No. You cannot purchase it digitally anymore. I know it says it is but the code they send you won’t work. I had to fight them to get a refund even though I contacted Microsoft to confirm this. That’s why you can’t purchase it in the Xbox store anymore either. They want you to switch over to Bedrock. You’ll have to buy the hard disk for the One Edition.
