“I got a USB type C "charge & sync" cable for my Google Pixel C tablet. It charges tablet, but doesn't let me see tablet's file system (unlike my Samsung Galaxy 5 phone, which appears as USB drive). Will Modal cable let me xfer _files_ from tablet to PC?”

• Using this to connect my Samsung S20+ to my desktop computer. Data transfers and charging are both working just fine. Nice Cable!..

• Likely the reason is the settings on the phone. The phone has to be "set" as to how it is presented to a PC. ie. charge only, file transfer, media transfer, etc. My Motorola phones prompt me each time I connect.
