“Does the cord draw power when phone is not plugged in? My car battery was drained and the only thing I could figure out was that this cord was plugged in for a couple of nights while the car sat unused. Does it continue to draw power even when a phone or other device is attached? Obviously it does draw power when it is first plugged in, because the lights run for a while, then it appears to go to sleep. So, in that sleep mode, does it still draw power? How much?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not unless your phone is still plugged into it. If it is then it can if your car plug still charges when the car is off. If not then no it doesn't. Even if it did it does not pull enough power (even for a few days) to kill a car battery.

Even if your tablet or phone is in sleep mode and is plugged into a power outlet it will draw power to charge the battery. The phone or tablet may also draw power during sleep mode to do updates, but I'm not sure about that. SO if you don't want it to draw power don't plug your device in.
