“i have a key pad with my 12.9 iPad Pro. Will i have to remove the folio case every time i want to use the key pad?”

Most likely yes, unless the keyboard is Bluetooth and doesn't have to physically connect to the ipad.

I don't think so because when I flip open the front cover, the three connectors are visible.

Yes, this will not work with the folio cover.
