• Not sure what you mean by smart box but I placed the Leaf 50 in the attic, and plugged it into the existing coax cable/splitter going to 4 bedrooms. Feeds all 4 tvs with one antennae. Works great.

• We don't recomend splitting signals with the Leaf 50 to more than 1 TV. Since the signal strength is split with each additional television the signals become weakened. A larger roof/attic antenna such as the Sky or Air 60 was designed to support multiple televisions, up to 6 in most areas. You can totally try splitting the Leaf 50 to see if it works for you before investing in anything else. Since the Smart Box, in cases I've seen, do not have a coaxial port connecting the Leaf directly to it would not be possible.
